When extensions begin to grow out, slip, tangle, show, or stop blending naturally, the answer is not simply to move them higher. I evaluate the hair, attachment points, shedding, condition, and maintenance timing before deciding what is safest.

The concern
Are your extensions becoming visible or difficult to manage?
Overdue maintenance can create tension, tangling, matting, uneven weight, slipping, visible attachment points, and a blend that no longer looks natural. Early evaluation helps protect both the extension hair and your natural hair.
My approach
I determine whether a move-up, refresh, removal, or replacement makes sense.
I review growth, attachment integrity, shedding, density, scalp comfort, home care, and the condition of the extension hair. I will not recommend a move-up when removal or replacement is the safer choice.

IBE and weft move-ups
One-, two-, and three-row maintenance is planned around growth, tension, track condition, density, and the health of the supporting hair.
K-tip, I-tip and refreshes
Individual methods require evaluation for bond integrity, slippage, matting, shedding, and whether small extension refreshes can restore balance.
Maintenance timing protects the result and the natural hair.
Waiting too long can allow shed hair to mat around attachment points, create uneven tension, and make removal more difficult. Maintenance frequency varies by method, growth rate, density, lifestyle, and home care.

How do I know when I need a move-up?
Visible growth, looseness, changed blending, discomfort, tangling, or attachment points that are becoming harder to conceal are signs that an evaluation is due.
Can every extension set be moved up?
No. Worn hair, damaged attachments, matting, excessive shedding, or compromised natural hair may require removal or replacement instead.
Why are my extensions slipping?
Oil, product buildup, attachment condition, placement, home care, growth, and method suitability can all contribute. I evaluate the cause before recommending a correction.
Can you maintain extensions installed elsewhere?
Possibly, but I must evaluate the method, hair quality, placement, condition, and compatibility before accepting the maintenance service.
